Super Talk With Angie and Owen
Issue #57: "A Real Piece of Schmidt" - After two major critical failures, the X-Men franchise was rebooted with X-Men: First Class. We take a look at a movie so plodding and misogynistic that even Kevin Bacon playing Kevin Bacon can't fully redeem it.
Issue #56: "Hydrochlorothiazide" - Perspective is a terrifying beast. For instance, after watching X-Men: The Last Stand it turns out that X-Men Origins: Wolverine looks like a masterpiece. Amazing what actually having a plot and characters with somewhat understandable motivations can do for a movie, even if this is the one with Barakapool.
Issue #55: "Dead for Five Years? Have Fun in Europe!" - Marvel wraps up Phase 3 with Spider-Man: Far From Home, a film about teenage love, finding one's place in the world, living up to your idol's legacy, and what to do when you get your first Peter Tingle.
Issue #54: "MCU Phase 4 Announcement" - SDCC brought us the overview for what's next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We're here to analyze, speculate, and geek out over the next 2 years of planned MCU projects.
Issue #53: "Into The Ocean" - There comes a time in all our lives when we must sit through the travesty that is X-Men: The Last Stand. Unfortunately, Angie and Owen have now had to do it twice. Fortunately, they made this episode so you didn't have to.
Issue #52: "I Love You 3000" - Hop on the Spoiler Train for our full review of the incredible Avengers: Endgame. Royal Wood joins us as we explore the final (and grandest) installment in the MCU's Infinity Saga. It's a long episode, but this movie deserves all the attention we have to give.
Issue #51: "Rock of Ages" - An orpham child is targeted for death by a former abuse victim in the DCEU's most light-hearted entry yet. Zachary Levi shines as The Artist Formally Known as Captain Marvel in "Shazam!"
Spoiler-Free Endgame Special: "I Am Inevitable" - Wanna hear our reactions to Avengers: Endgame? Here they are! It's a short, spoiler-free episode we recorded a mere 30-minutes after getting back from seeing the movie. Don't worry, we'll have a full-sized and spoileriffic review for y'alls soon!
Issue #50 "Poor Cyclops" - It's time for X-2: X-Men United!!! An American Colonel (played by a Scot) abducts a disabled American professor (played by a Brit). Now, his American friends (played by an Aussie and a Dutch) team up with two Germans (played by Brits) to get him back.
Issue #49: "What Happens to a Toad When it Gets Struck by Lightning" - There's 19 years of X-Men movies, so we start off with the granddaddy of them all. Join us as we get a solid preview for the franchise as a whole: sometimes fantastic, sometimes absolute garbage, and with a TON of Hugh Jackman in the middle.
Issue #48: "Merry Mutants" - Our big project for the year is the entire X-Men film franchise from 2000 until today, so we are kicking it off with a short primer about why they matter, even 50-odd years after their creation. Also, we talk about some of the big news that has dropped the past few weeks in the superhero film world.
Issue #47: "Flerken Marvelous" - The MCU has their first female-helmed movie and she's operating on God mode. Join us as we discuss Captain Marvel from the comfort of lying donn on the carpet of a nearly empty room.
Issue #46: "I'm Not a Mistake" - The Eastrail 177 Trilogy ends with Glass, easily the most divisive entry in the franchise. Critics hate it, audiences like it, and even our hosts have differing views on this film.
Issue #45: "We Are What We Believe We Are" - We look at the film that brought M. Night back into the light with "Split," the middle chapter of the Eastrail 177 trilogy.. It's got a veiny James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy's eyes, the color orange, etcetera. Possible spoilers for Glass as well.
Issue #44: "What if Superman Didn't Know He Was Superman?" - We begin our look at the Eastrail 177 Trilogy with Unbreakable. It's a magnificent film that predicted the manner in which superhero movies would be portrayed for the next two decades. If you have never seen it, do yourself a favor and do so before listening to this episode. You owe it to yourself.
Issue #43: "Waterboy 2: Pretensions of Grandiocity" - We both went in to Aquaman hoping for another Wonder Woman. What we were served instead was a turd polished to an almost mirror-like sheen.
Issue #42: "Super Talk Always Gets Up" - What's up this week? Oh, nothing much. Just a heartwarming, gorgeous, awesome, well-written, amazingly acted, wonderful little film called Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Special Edition #3: "One Year Later" - It's a mish-mashey shoot-from-the-hip kinda episode as we look back on our first year in existence while also gazing ahead at what the future holds for us fans (while completely forgetting to mention that there is a SHAZAM! movie coming out).
Issue 40: "Jane Wick" - Charlize Theron looks fantastic as she stabs, nut-shots, and shoots most of the KGB while a SLAPPER of a soundtrack plays. It's neon, graffiti, synths, and spies on Super Talk!
Issue 39: "No One Cared Who I Was, Until I Made A Podcast" - We finish off Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy with its divisive final entry. We discuss Darth Connery's strange voice, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who we think is the best Alfred, and why some of us think this movie could have been so much better (not all of us, though).
Issue 38: "You got some Venom for me, BOAH?" - Angie and Owen tear themselves away from Parks and Recreation and Red Dead Redemption II long enough to review a movie they saw a month ago. The verdict: thank the Powers that Be for Tom Hardy and his weird accents
Issue 37: "I Saw a Tangerine Playing with a Tangerine the Size of a Tangerine" - A One-Percenter cosplays as a giant furry flying mammal and beats up the emotionally disturbed and mentally traumatized. This is considered one of the greatest films ever made.
Issue 36: "'Batman Dooms Westeros" - We kick off our watching of the Dark Knight Trilogy with Batman Begins! It's not up to the level of the Dark Knight or the Arkham Games, but it sure as hell isn't Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice either.
Issue 35: "'E is for Effort" - OUR LAST FANTASTIC FOUR MOVIE! It's been a roller coaster of mediocre-to-awful adaptations of Marvel's First Family. We finish with this unreleased feature from 1994 full of shoddy effects, studio interference, and a crew trying to do their best with no money and time.
Issue 34: "'Ioan Gruffudd' Three Times Fast" - WE'RE BACK with Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. We desperately try to stay on topic as we discuss pretty much anything but this meh-splosion of a movie.
Issue 33: "Adventures in Mediocrity" - 10 years before the piece of actual garbage we watched last episode, Fox made a Fantastic Four movie that only KINDA sucked. We learn that perspective can be a dangerous thing as we talk about The Shield, a horrible wife, the Welsh language, and how much we love gummy bears.
Issue 32: "Trash Test Doomy" - Angie subjects Owen to one of the darkest moments in movie history with the war crime that is 2015's Fantastic Four. We talk about Jules Verne, NASA protocol, Angie's inexplicable re-watches of this film, and Owen's potential aneurysm.
Issue 31: "DISCO IS LIFE!!!" - We revisit the 1999 cult-classic Mystery Men and find our opinions on it as uneven as the film. Join us for cos-plays, egg salad, Scooby-Doo, and more marveling at the insanity of the late 90's.
Note: There are some minor audio problems with Issue 31, but we promise, we're just as funny, so bear with us.
Issue 30: "Baba Yaga Comes at Night" - We're back! Sorry about the delay, so get your fix by joining us for Ant-Man and the Wasp. We talk about Angie's work schedule, the best dad in the MCU, ant biology, and the word "quantum".
Issue 29: "WAKE ME UP" - It's time for a crash course in early-2000's "culture" with Daredevil. We discuss the subtler points of cross-humping, sandbag-slaying, nu-metal, and whatever the hell Colin Farrell was doing.
Issue 28: "1/10 - Needs More Bomb Voyage" - No, that's not our actual review of The Incredibles 2. We liked it just fine. Although we are still dealing with complex feelings about a woman eating baozi.

Issue 22: "Destiny Arrives - Part I" - It's SPOILER time, as we review a movie where a bunch of people in funny outfits try to take a glove from a depressed California Raisin. Infinity War is out, and the movie is so big we had to split our episode in two parts.

Issue 21: "Mister Doctor" - It took around 30 years for this film to get made, but now we have famed British actor Bendyback Crabbyboy teaming up with a bunch of actors whose names we cannot pronounce to create an acid trip whose moral is "being less of an asshole makes your life more fulfilling.

Issue 19: "Ants! Ants! ANT-MAN!!!" - Those crazy bastards at Marvel Studios made Paul Rudd into a superhero and a carpenter ant into a cute sidekick. What a time to be alive.
